I found these flowers on a comb at
my    sister's day care center and
had to try them out. Life is too short
to pass up taking a humiliating
photo when the chance arises. And
thank goodness there is no video
of me singing, "I feel pretty, oh so
pretty, I feel pretty and witty and
gay, and I pity any*
one* who isn't
me today !!"
Be An Angel Newsletter
MAY  2009
A heart felt thank-you to everyone who sent a small note of encouragement after receiving
my first newsletter. It has given me the courage to try again to communicate with friends
and family.

I have been busy doing too many things, few of them having to do with clay. Such as
creating
a blog for my sister's day care center.  I did make  8 medium sized angels, two very
large ones, a lady who is probably Mexican and a big old wolf in an Indian blanket.  See
them, my May clay work,
here.  They are all fired and painted.  Things explode in kilns, so
until they are painted and in my photographed folder, they do not yet exist.
I learned how to use Picasa, a
free program, to make "movies"
of my photos, upload them to
youtube.com and then add
music to them.
They came out well for a first try.

You could do it with your
photos and videos, too.

Barb and Jan McKeighen with the Time Out Chair.
Barb and Jan McKeighen
gave me this sweet chair to
paint for their favorite
charity,
La Pilita, next to El
Minuto Cafe and El Tiradito
Shrine downtown.

I made it into an Abuelita's
Time Out Chair. It was fun
to do. Lunch with them was
fun, too.

I spent almost a week working on El Centro
Cultural de las America's TAMAL FIESTA, office
work, publicity and then cooking. It was a
wonderful time. Then I made a slide show.
Remember to click on the HQ button once to
lower the quality for prettier pictures.

For simple and separate photos,

want to use one for something,
for anything, I
don't care,  tell me and I will email that one to you.
If you want to have the fun that I do
sending emails to grandchildren and

not, well then,

I type phonetically to make them
speak Spanish
and I am always the red beehived
receptionist in her business suit in
her office wearing  glasses and
holding a pretzel. And, I use the
Kate's voice offered.

I have a friend who is a severely
disabled poet and activist. She
chains her wheelchair to the White
House fence and fights for
freedom for all
severely disabled
people.  That links to an interview.
Wild, hehehehh.

Well, she is very poor, makes her
living
writing blogs, poetry and
articles on her "freedom" of
movement. And she gets a small
stipend to live in her own
apartment with only 16 hrs. of care,
actually it's more like 21 hours
because her night people work 8
hours but only get paid for 3!! This
is why she fights the government.

It costs us all much less to do this
than to put her in a nursing home,
did you know that??
She
graduates here...

Anyway, she asked all of us friends
to give her
birthday gifts to a
charity and not to her.
Now, that is selfless behavior.

I admire the heck out of her wild
freedom, as I might just sit there
under her circumstances and pity
myself endlessly. Now her defense
fund needs money. You could
email her defense money through
Paypal.com to her email address
martina_robinson@hotmail.com ;
she's been arrested 24 times.

Maybe you could give a small gift
as a present to her charity.

Her latest BLOG follows>>>>  "I
made a birthday wish on Facebook.
You can donate here.  I don't care
if my donors come from Blogit,
Facebook, or wherever.  I just
want to raise at least $660 for the
Colorado Cross-Disability
Coalition.  They're a very cool
organization that helps people
with all disabilities organize across
diagnosis boundaries.  I wish
Massachusettes had such a group,
but we don't that I know of.

I went to Rainbow graduation at
UMass.  I'm on the Speakers
Bureau, which helps people
understand more about LGBT
issues.  I've gone to this event for
four years now and really enjoy it.
They usually have some really
brilliant speaker.

I am proud of myself for taking the
bus twice today and being more
planet friendly.  My friend's Sarah's
Div III (final thesis at Hampshire
College).  It was on the anti-war
movement and she said something
about "her complicity in the
deaths" in the Middle East
because she drove lots.  I'm really
going to reduce my use of van
service.  In this warmer weather
the bus is more doable.  In the
winter, I need to take the van."
because it's just too cold."
This is a slide show of my
reproduction pieces.
Remember to hit the HQ
button once.  If you order a
minimum $100.00
wholesale order, you can
buy from the importers.

My coffee mugs and
storytellers are not in the
video as I could not get
their photos in time.

I will do a much better
video in the future with
order numbers next to
photos, etc. for pausing the
show and writing down
what you want to order.

Sorry, I am an impatient,
slow learner and mess up
first, then tighten up later.
